World Indoor Championships semi-finalist Joe Thomas (coach: Arwyn Davies) and Commonwealth medallist Carys Parry (Lorraine Shaw) will be two of the big names in a star-studded Wales team for this weekend's Loughborough International.

Cardiff AAC athlete Thomas will compete in the 1500m for a team that sees past Commonwealth Games finalists Gareth Warburton (Darrell Maynard) lined up for the 800m, multi-eventer Ben Gregory (Emily Parker) in the long jump and Paul Walker (Scott Simpson) in the pole vault. The men's side is also receiving top class value from high jumper Rob Mitchell (Denis Doyle) and the throwing trio of Ryan Spencer-Jones (shot), Brett Morse (discus, Vesteinn Hafsteinsson) and Lee Doran (javelin, John Davies).

The women's half of the team sees Delhi 2010 silver medallist Parry competing in the hammer throw, while Sally Peake (Scott Simpson) will aim to continue her good streak in the pole vault. A youthful squad sees GB internationals Lauren O'Reilly (Ivor Adams) and Caryl Granville (Darrell Maynard) in the 100m hurdles and 400m hurdles respectively, while in-form Adele Nicoll (Andy Brittan) will be on her way to replicate her stunning performance from the Olympic Park in the shot.
