The Athlete Support Plan is a scheme designed to support Welsh Athletes who have the potential to deliver success at the next Commonwealth Games or, who are an U20 (or U17 in some exceptional cases) athletes identified by the Welsh Athletics Performance Team as having the ability to deliver at the Commonwealth Games for Wales in the future.
Funding for the Athlete Support Plan has been secured by Welsh Athletics thanks to the success of the Progressing Coaching for Performance, which was pledged additional support over the next four years by Sport Wales, and of the brilliant performance of our athletes, coaches and staff at the Commonwealth Games in Delhi, where our squad collected an unprecedented number of medals.
Athletes benefitting from the Athlete Support Plan fit into three categories:
- UKA World Class Performance Plans (WCPP)
- Commonwealth Games (CWG)
- Welsh Athletics Academy (WAA)
The lists below confirms the athletes who are on the Welsh Athletics support lists from 1st April 2012 until 30th November 2012.
