Wednesday 18th April marks the great milestone of ONE HUNDRED DAYS TO THE OLYMPIC GAMES OF LONDON 2012!

As celebratory events take place across the country and in London, work is going on to ensure Welsh Athletics can answer the most important question of all - ARE WE READY?

Our ongoing programme of initiatives for the Olympic year, 2012: Burning Ambition, sees new items being added on a weekly basis. After the official launch of the summer competition events including the Welsh Diamond Jubilee Championships (June 2-4) and the prestigious Welsh Athletics International (July 18), we are happy to unveil the first of many blogs that will follow our Olympic hopefuls as they prepare for their chance of a lifetime - shining at the home Games.

Javelin star Lee Doran is the first athlete to be featured in the blogs - our favourite spear-chucker giving us a detailed account of his activities during warm weather training in Tunisia as he prepares for his first competition this Friday. You can read his blog here - and many more are to come as we recruit more athletes to the fold!

Welsh Athletics will also soon unveil a star-studded programme of activities linked to the Olympic Games Torch Relay, the flame passing through Wales between May 25th and 29th. Keep checking these pages for an announcement!
