The top Welsh Clubs will contest the 2017 Road Relay Championships

The top Welsh Clubs will contest the 2017 Road Relay Championships at Pembrey Country Park on Saturday.

The Championships have moved from their usual position in March because of a particularly congested Spring calendar in 2017.

The park situated near Llanelli provides a stunning backdrop for the event which will host relay competition for U13's through to seniors and for master athletes.

Swansea Harriers are unlikely to be stopped in the battle for supremacy in the senior categories. International stars Dewi Griffiths and Joshua Griffiths are expected to run.

Their women's teams are likely to be equally strong with Caryl Jones, Verity Ockenden and Andrea Whitcombe all amongst their entry.

The children's categories are usually more open. Cardiff AAC, Swansea Harriers, Bridgend AC, Carmarthen Harriers, Newport Harriers and Menai Track & Field were all among the winners last year.

The first race is at 11:30am.
