Cardiff hosts the Welsh 10k Championships again this year on Sunday, 12th September.
The mass race also incorporates an international match between Wales, England and Scotland with 2 men and 2 women to score as a team.
Wales field a strong team with Michael Johnson and Jon Wills both running well at the moment. Michael won the Welsh 5k Championships last weekend and will be looking to break the 30 minute barrier for the first time, while Jon is top ranked at 10k in Wales this summer with a 29:46 clocking. The men will be backed up by Marilyn Kitching, who at 42 years old is running better than ever having clocked 36:09 in Bristol in May, and Nicola Knapp who has moved onto the road this year.
Former Olympic 400m runner Jamie Baulch is also on the start line while in training for the London Marathon. Jamie is training well and this will be a good indication of whether the 400m can challenge the time another 400m runner Iwan Thomas ran in London.
There is a race limit of 3000 entries with 2500 having already entered. Entries close on Monday 6th September so get your entry in now
