Geoff Ward

Geoff WardBased at Wrexham in North Wales, Geoff Ward has been one of Wales’s leading coaches for the past 25yrs. He is recognised as a knowledgeable, enthusiastic, effective and successful coach across many disciplines in Track and Field. As an athlete Geoff competed internationally for Wales in High Jump, Pole Vault, Long Jump, Triple Jump and Decathlon before taking up coaching in 1986.

Geoff is a UKA Level 4 Coach in combined events and his expertise was recognised and rewarded when he was appointed G.B. Combined Events Team Manager for the International between G.B., Sweden, Finland and Estonia in Stockholm.

Geoff was the Athletics Stadium Manager at the Queensway Stadium, Wrexham from 1985 to 1992- He was a Welsh Athletics Development Officer from 1992 to 1995 and was Welsh National Event Coach for Combined Events.

In 2001 he was appointed National Coaching Co-ordinator for Malta. This responsible and challenging appointment gave Geoff the chance to show his ability in leading Maltese teams at the following Championships;
