2018 World Mountain Running Trials Report

2018 World Mountain Running Trial Race - Keswick - Sunday 5th August 

Commonwealth Games marathoner Andrew Davies (Stockport; Steve Vernon) finished 3rd at the 2018 Trial Races for the World Mountain Running Championships in Keswick on Sunday. Davies finished the Men's 10.4km up and down course in 55:00, behind Jacob Adkin (52:54) and Andrew Douglas (53:39), as he continues his build up to the Jungfrau Marathon in Switzerland next month. 

Eryri's Rob Samuel finished 14th in the Senior Men's race in 58:57, whilst Bronwen Jenkinson (Eryri Harriers) finished 5th overall in the Senior Women's race in 68:51 - crossing the line as the first u23. Bronwen's Eryri teammate Miranda Grant finished 9th in the Senior Women's race in 74:27. 

In the Junior Men's 6.8km race, Eryri's Tom Wood finished in 10th place in 43:30, whilst Wrexham's Ifan Oldfield finished in 20th place in a time of 48:34.  

Sunday's race in Keswick acted as the Trial Race for the World Mountain Running Championships which will take place next month in Canillo, Andorra.
