Double Olympian joins line up of speakers…
Double Olympic Marathon runner Steve Brace has been added to the line up of presenters for the forthcoming #Inspiredby2017 Clubs Conference taking place on Saturday 21st October at the Coldra Court Hotel by Celtic Manor, Newport.
Brace who competed in the marathon at both the Barcelona (1992) and Atlanta (1996) Olympic Games will deliver a workshop session related to club partnerships and effective multi club collaborations. More recently Steve is famed for his involvement in the sport as a race organiser delivering races across a number of disciplines at all levels of the sport. Perhaps his most prominent role in recent years is acting as Head of Event Delivery for Run 4 Wales and his outstanding contribution to delivering the Cardiff University / IAAF World Half Marathon Championships in Cardiff and the hugely successful Cardiff Half Marathon.
Chris Moss, Development Manager added; “Steve is a fantastic addition to the conference and will bring a wealth of knowledge and experience – this will be great especially for the clubs that focus predominantly on adult endurance running. Steve will be able to offer tips and advice on effective collaborations and share models used by his own club Bridgend AC. At the clubs conference we try and offer something for all clubs in Wales and this will be a session that will be of particular interest to many of our endurance and road running clubs”.
Steve will join Mike Lynch of GB Sport in presenting at this years Clubs Conference. GB Sport is one of the UK’s leading agencies in providing expert training, consultancy and software services to clubs and those working and volunteering in sport.
Further speakers and a timetable for the conference will be announced in the coming days.
