Neath Harriers double celebration

It has been congratulations all around in the last couple of weeks at Neath Harriers.

Firstly javelin thrower Bethany Moule was awarded the WSAA JDB Williams award for the outstanding field performance last summer. Bethany threw a remarkable 48.84 metres at the SIAB International at Ashford in Kent, a remarkable performance in light of the Dwr y Felin school pupil still being in Year 9 and also still an Under 15. The real icing on the cake was that this throw also represented a UK age group best.

Also celebrating success has been long serving Neath club treasurer Phil Lewis. Phil has held this role since 1994 and is also a highly respected and hardworking official, a regular feature at club, schools and national events. Phil has recently had these achievements recognised and he is shown right being awarded his Welsh Athletics Meritorious Award by Sue Alvey (Chair of General Council).

Congratulations to both Bethany and Phil from all at Neath Harriers AC.
