Easter Weekend Round Up

Many of Wales top athletes continued their fine starts to 2017 with impressive performances in America.

Fort Worth, Texas, USA
Emily Wright (Shawn Jackson) started her season in style, with a windy 6.16m to take 3rd place in the long jump.

Clermont, Florida, USA
Olivia Breen (Aston Moore) jumped to a new PB of 4.88m, the distance would have been good enough for a new T38/F38 British Record, but for the illegal +3.1 wind. She also narrowly missed out on a PB in the 100m, clocking a time of 13.29 seconds, just 0.01 outside her current lifetime best.

Cullowhee, USA
Colwyn Bay’s Mathew Harding (Phillip Oliver) continued his superb start to the summer season, with a huge lifetime best of 1.48.82 to win his race. Mathew has now knocked nearly 6 seconds from his previous best so far this season.

Azuza, California, USA
Michael Ward (Paul Darney) made a solid start to his 2017 season, finishing in 11th place in a time of 3.46.36. Sian Morgan (Swansea Harriers) cleared 3.72 to claim 7th in the Pole Vault at the same venue.

Mt. Sac Relays, Torrance, USA
At the prestigious Mt. Sac Relays, the Price twins continued their fine start to 2017. Rhianwedd (Houston Franks) battled to 7th place in the 1500m in a time of 4.17.03, with sister Ffion (Houston Franks) just behind in 12th in a time of 4.21.03.
