Bev Jones withdraws from Gold Coast Games

Beverley Jones who was selected to compete for Team Wales in the F38 Long Jump on the Gold Coast in what would have been her third Commonwealth Games for Wales, has sadly had to withdraw on health grounds. Bev, who is coached by Geoff Ward and competes for Deeside AAC, is one of Wales' most experienced and decorated athletes having won a Bronze medal at the 2006 Games in Melbourne, and has competed at 5 Paralympic Games, winning Bronze in the F37 DiscussĀ  at London 2012.

"It's a real shame that Bev, who's been such a committed and successful athlete for Wales, will be unable to compete out here in Austrailia, but following medical advice, this decision has had to be taken." said Scott Simpson, Head of Performance.
