Welsh Athletics is pleased to announce the 4th National Squad of the 2007/2008 programme will take place on Saturday 8th March at the National Indoor Athletics Centre (NIAC), Cardiff.
Automatic Selection is based on the achievement of UK P10 (age group, outdoor 2007).
National Event Coaches (NEC's) have also been invited to nominate additional athletes based on the criteria of those athletes possessing developable potential and would therefore achieve the UK P10 in the near future. The deadline for additional nominations was Monday 11th February.
The 4th National Squad will be focused upon the Technical and Tactical element of the 5 Rings Model. The day will allow athletes and their coaches to spend time with their National Event Coach (NEC) to evaluate the preparation work, indoor competition season and put in place the strategies to achieve their goals for the outdoor season. Welsh Athletics understands the need for the athlete and coach to develop as a pair, therefore we would like to invite all the coaches of the selected athletes to attend National Squad 4.
Day Format;
09:30 - Arrive at NIAC
9:30-10:00 - Registration
10:00 - 12:30 - Working with NEC
12:30-13:30 - Lunch (Not provided)
13:30 - 16:00 - Working with NEC
16:00- 16:30 - Evaluation/Future Planning with NEC
16:30 - Depart
