Angela Thomas
1946-2008
Angela Thomas died at her home in Street, mid-Somerset, on Thursday October 9th after a short battle with cancer. One of Angela’s proudest athletic moments was being selected to be part of the Welsh team at the Cross country international last November in Belfast aged 61.
Along with her husband Clive, she was one of the 6,700 runners in the first London Marathon in 1981, demonstrating her own athletic talent by storming home in close to 3 hours 10 mins despite being a mother of two young boys, Neal and Alan.
Ange and Clive Thomas have been at the heart of Wells City Harriers for over 25 years, making them a force to be reckoned with across the south of England and further afield. She will be sadly missed by those who know her through the sport or through life in general.
Angela's funeral will be held next Friday 17th October, at St Leonard's Church, Butleigh at 12.30.
