Would like to draw your attention to the ‘Safeguarding and
Protecting Children: a guide for sportspeople’, courses which will be running for athletics over the next 4-5 weeks.
It is a requirement that each club affiliated to Welsh Athletics has at least one fully qualified Welfare Officer to act as a point of contact.
These courses will run at the locations detailed below at the following times:

Please note that the Athletics Welfare evening scheduled for Cardiff is TUESDAY 11th DECEMBER 2007 at the Welsh Institute of Sport, Sophia Gardens, Cardiff - 7pm start and not on any other dates.
Note: Courses will start at 7pm prompt, therefore please arrive at the venue at 6.45pm for pre course refreshments
With this letter you will find an information leaflet highlighting the key topics that the course covers as well as highlighting its importance in today’s coaching climate. Please ensure that you make an effort to attend.
If you are unable to attend please make an attempt to actively encourage other colleagues in the club and coaching community to consider the course and highlight the importance of this course to those individuals.
The course is seen as an essential part of coach/volunteer development to assist individuals within clubs that may be operating in a team management capacity. For coaches, attendance on this course will add credit to your coaching capacity as well as add to your personal CPD profiling.
There is no cost for the course however places are limited and will be issued on a first come first served basis.
