West Wales Triumph at Tamworth

"Despite the unfavourable weather conditions, the West Wales National Junior League Under 20 team returned to form last weekend.

After only finishing 6th out of the competing 8 clubs in the first fixture, the Midlands Premier League 2007 Champions pulled off a surprise match victory in Tamworth. Fielding a strenghened team this time, the athletes outscored their rivals across the range of track and field events.Full result details are given on the league website.

With rivals Birchfield Hariers in pole league position after two of the four scheduled fixtures, West Wales lie in an interesting 3rd spot two points behind Mansfield Harriers. All is to play for, with the top two finishers qualifying for the UK Final in September. The next match takes place in Cannock but West Wales have the advantage of hosting the last match in July at Swansea."
