It is with great sadness that Welsh Athletics reports the passing away of Mary Webb, who sadly lost her 3 year battle with cancer on the morning of 1st July.
A member of Cardiff AAC, she competed for a number of years at Welsh/British and European Masters level, collecting many medals, until the illness took hold.
She also worked as a field official in supporting competition locally with the Cardiff & Vale track & field programme, and was the organiser of the Welsh Masters Track & Field League and Masters Championships for many years.
Shortly before her death Mary was presented with a Meritorious Award for her services to athletics in Wales.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday 14th July at 11.00am at St Francis Church, Cowbridge Road, Ely, Cardiff followed by the interment at Western Cemetery, Cowbridge Road, Ely, Cardiff.
Afterwards, all are invited to the Fairwater Conservative Club, Fairwater, Cardiff, for light refreshments.
