Mike Summers, who will become England Athletics' Chief Executive in early March, is currently the project manager for UK Athletics' Road Running Leadership Group (RRLG).
Pivotal to Mike's RRLG role has been working with representatives from all levels of the sport, from the chairmen and chief executives of the national governing bodies and the major UK events such as the Flora London Marathon and BUPA Great North Run through to club secretaries, regional road running portfolio holders and directors of small races.
Prior to UK Athletics, Mike was an International Marketing Director with the multinational Thomson Corporation, leading a team of marketing professionals across the UK, Europe and the Asia Pacific region. A graduate of Lancaster and Durham Universities in Physics and Microelectronics, Mike also holds an MBA in Business Administration, specialising in marketing, from New York Institute of Technology.
Mike is a passionate runner, running marathons in Paris in 2006, Hamburg in 2007 and now in training for the Edinburgh Marathon in May 2008
