Local runner Chris Parker, a Swansea Harrier, has visited London twice in the last couple of weeks, once as an Olympic Torchbearer and the following week running in the London Marathon. Chris was holding the Olympic Torch when it was attacked by a protestor brandishing a fire extinguisher! He then went on to run through a mix of highly vocal protestors and Olympic supporters to pass the flame to Tim Henman. Fortunately the crowds were a lot more encouraging the following week during the London Marathon and Chris was pleased to run a PB of 2:45.” Chris describes both experiences as unforgettable!
