Welsh Athletics are sending a small cohort of athletes to these competitions in order to provide international competition experience while offering good quality competition for our best athletes.
The philosophy behind the selection will be “to select the best team possible to represent Wales, while offering international competition opportunity to developing U20 and U23 athletes”. Consideration will be given to 2013 performances, previous head-head results, athlete performance at major events (including Welsh and UK Championships) as well as an athlete’s future potential to represent Wales at the highest level.
The option is to do one or both meetings. Please be clear on what you wish to be considered for in your email to the respective National Event Group Lead.
There is likely to be a contribution required towards travel from each athlete. Travel will be confirmed when final numbers are agreed. Please note that the travel options are more difficult than previous years with no local airports flying to Vienna – it is likely that more extensive domestic travel will be necessary.
