STARS FLOCK TO WELSH DIAMOND JUBILEE CHAMPIONSHIPS – JUNE 2/4 CARDIFF

2012 is a unique year in the history of British sport – and Welsh Athletics is choosing to celebrate it with the most spectacular Welsh Championships ever staged.

The 2012 Welsh Diamond Jubilee Championships will take place on June 2nd, 3rd and 4th at the Cardiff International Sports Stadium and will feature all age groups, ranging from Under 13 hopefuls to Commonwealth Games medallists – and Parallel Success disability events.

With international stars such as Lee Doran (javelin), Sally Peake (pole vault) and Commonwealth Games silver Medallist Carys Parry (hammer) all lined up to compete, the Welsh Diamond Jubilee Championships promise to be a high-quality event, where the top athletes in Wales will try to clinch the qualifying standard for the Olympic Games of London 2012.

790 athletes will take place in the three-days event in a majestically branded-up Cardiff International Sports Stadium.

The 2012 Welsh Diamond Jubilee Championships are part of the 2012: Burning Ambition programme.
