400m runner Owen Smith had some impressive performances as he prepares to battle for a place in the World Junior Championships next week.
The Welsh Diamond Jubilee Championship turned out to be a successful weekend, with getting the gold in the 400m U20 and setting a respectable time of 48.81.
My attention then turned to Tuesday night's run at Trafford. With the conditions being less than ideal, with the track covered in water and with the rain still coming down, I was hugely pleased to run a personal best of 48.04 in the race.
It is less than a week until the AAA's in Bedford, so all training is focused on peaking and hopefully running another personal best and to hopefully secure a place at the World Junior Championship in Barcelona and a place at the Welsh Athletics International in July.
I will keep you all updated on the progress on this busy month ahead.
