The Cardiff Cross Challenge will return on Saturday 13th October 2018 and will form the first fixture in the 2018 / 2019 British Athletics Cross Challenge Series.
The races will take place in Llandaff Fields in Cardiff and will host the first fixture of the Gwent Cross Country League.
It will come just a week after the inaugural Commonwealth Half Marathon Championships take place in Cardiff City Centre and it is hoped that the two fixtures will compliment each other as both bring International Athletics to the Welsh capital.
The event has previously welcomed many, if not most of the top British endurance runners including a large number of British Champions such as; Frank Tickner, Peter Riley, Andy Vernon, Louise Damen, Jess Judd and Dewi Griffiths.
In addition, it has hosted several European Cross Country Champions including; Hayley Yelling, Charlotte Purdue and Gemma Steel.
The season opener will provide a great opportunity for athletes to face the best British runners ahead of the European Trials at Liverpool in November and in 2018 will also incorporate an International field of athletes as the fixture continues to grow in stature.
