Welsh teams travel to the ERRA National Road Relays

The top Welsh club teams will compete at  the ERRA NAtional Autumn Road Relay Championships in Birmingham on Saturday.

Welsh teams have a strong record at the Relays traditionally. Cardiff AAC Men's team are the defending champions after taking victory at Sutton Park, 12 months ago.

Cardiff AAC are the defending champions

Swansea Harriers took silver medals on that occasion, led by Dewi Griffiths who ran the fastest leg of the day.

Since then the Harriers have taken 12 Stage Road Relay Championships victory and will begin Saturday's event amongst the favourites. A full strength Swansea Harriers team would be very hard for any British club to beat.

Aberdare Valley AAC will aso compete in the men's race.

Cardiff AAC women's team took bronze medals in 2016 and Swansea Harriers took silver medals in the Spring at the women's six stage.

Both will be looking to get amongst the medals with Swansea Harriers perhaps the most likely to cause an upset to the English teams.

Lliswerry Runners will also contest the women's race.

Newport Harriers and Swansea Harriers have both entered teams in the children's races.
