Following the successes of our endurance athletes who admirably represented Great Britain on the Cross Country at the European Championships in December and then at the Edinburgh International in January, another Welsh athlete has been given the opportunity to pull on the GB vest later this month. Ben Gregory (coach: Aston Moore) has been added to the Great Britain team competing in Prague on the 28th / 29th January. GB take on teams from Spain, France, Poland and the Czech Republic in their capital city. Ben completes a team of four male combined eventers who will contest the indoor heptathlon this coming weekend. The Welshman broke the Welsh National record in the Decathlon last summer and will be looking to improve on his National indoor Heptathlon record that he set back in 2014. This will be his first Heptathlon since 2015, but he made a promising start 10 days ago with an indoor personal best in the Pole Vault (5.12m).
We wish Ben all the best for the coming weekend.
