Queensland International Track Classic – Wednesday 28th March
Many Team Wales athletes are in action on Wednesday as they head to the Queensland International Track Classic for some world class competition in preparation for the Commonwealth Games in just under two weeks’ time.
For many of the athletes, Wednesday’s meet provides one of the final opportunities to prepare for the Games with elite fields assembled across the board. Eleven welsh athletes will compete in total at the Queensland Sport and Athletics Centre on Wednesday.
Decathletes Ben Gregory and Curtis Matthews will compete in the 110m Hurdles as well as the Discus Throw and Pole Vault, whilst Cardiff’s David Omoregie will compete in the 110m Hurdles.
Melissa Courtney will race the women’s 1,500m, whilst Cardiff duo Tom Marshall and Rowan Axe are entered in the men’s 1,500m.
Sprint trio Morgan Jones (T47), James Ledger (T12) and Rhys Jones (T38) will all race in the men’s 100m. Hollie Arnold (F42) will compete in the women’s Javelin whilst Osian Jones will go in the men’s Hammer throw.
