Cosmeston relay race is a chip-timed baton relay race over an approximate 3 mile multi-terrain course in the picturesque Cosmeston Lakes Country Park, Penarth.
Each runner runs one circuit of the course in teams of three or four. There are 11 team prizes.
Now in its 27th year, and featuring chip-timed batons for the third time, Cosmeston Relays race takes place in the picturesque Cosmeston Lakes Country Park, Penarth.
Each runner completes 1 circuit of the 3 mile (approx.) undulating multi-terrain course in teams of either 3 or 4 runners. There are 11 team categories, 8 for athletic clubs and 3 for ‘all comers’ teams with prizes for the winners of each category.
The 2017 race will take place on Wednesday, July 12th at 7:00 p.m.
The race will have a new higher entry limit of 220 teams for 2017. It sold out in just 9 days in 2016 - enter early to avoid missing out.
The race is run on paths entirely within the park and affords some scenic running, with lake views, open countryside and a wooded section.
Race entries will open at 6:00 p.m. on Friday May 12th and close at 10:00 p.m. on Friday, July 7th (earlier if full). There will be no on-the-day entries.
Teams of 3 runners - £16.00; teams of 4 runners - £21.00
Run under UK Athletics rules.
The wearing of earphones, headphones or similar devices of any type is not permitted in the race.
All runners must be aged 17 or over.
Batons must be carried at all times
