The Cardiff 10k is run on a flat and fast course starting in Cardiff's Civic Centre. The route then takes runners through the city centre, passing the Millenium Stadium then turning through Bute Park and past the magnificent Castle before finishing back in the Civic Centre.
The fastest time in the UK for 2011 was set in Cardiff by winner Milton Rotich of Kenya. His team mate Alice Mogire won the ladies race, setting a Welsh all-comers record for the distance.
Previous winners of this event include the current marathon world record holder, Patrick Makau.
