The 2018 Welsh Athletics Clubs Conference will take place at the Park Inn Hotel, Cardiff on Saturday 17th November between 10a.m and 4p.m.

East and South Wales Throws Foundation Day (12th September, 2018)
We are pleased to present a series of Throws Foundation Days for u11, u13 and u15 athletes from South and East Wales
The first Foundation Day in the series will take place on Saturday, 29th September at NIAC, Cardiff and will focus on the events of the Shot Put and Discus
Any athlete can attend for age groups u11, u13 and u15 providing they have 3 marks on their Powerof10 profile in their chosen event

Welsh Athletics Service Awards (29th August, 2018)
Nominations are now open for the Welsh Athletics Service Awards. The awards are presented to individuals in recognition of exceptional contribution over a long period of time to the sport of athletics in Wales. There are two categories of Service Awards open for nomination; The Meritorious Award and the Award of Honour.
Please note that nominations for the Welsh Athletics Service Awards will close on Wednesday 19th September.

Welsh Road Relay Championships (14th August, 2018)
Entries are now open for the 2018 Welsh Road Relay Championships to be held in Pembrey Country Park on Saturday 22nd September. Event information, online entry system and approximate timetable can be viewed on the event information page.
Please note Primary School Races are not run in relay format - they are a one-off 1,540m race where all runners start together.
Welsh Athletics Awards 2018 (13th August, 2018)
There's still time to get your nominations in for this year's Welsh Athletics Awards. Nominations close on Wednesday 15th August. The Welsh Athletics Awards programme will see Clubs, Groups, Athletes, as well as many Volunteers from across the country recognised for their contributions in supporting the development of athletics in Wales.
Postcode Community Trust (13th August, 2018)
"Grants of up to £20,000 are available to registered charities, with other organisation types able to apply for up to £2,000. Grants can run for up to 12 months. Projects previously funded in Wales include Golden-Oldies, a social initiative, bringing positive change and improving the wellbeing of older, marginalised and visually impaired people. The group received funding to provide structured, daytime social singing and activity sessions that encourage participation and functional exercise."
Note: The closing date for submitting expressions of interest is 15 August!
Athlete Transfers accessible online via Member Login (9th August, 2018)
Athletes are now able to submit transfer requests via their online Member's Login through the UKA portal. Athletes can log in to the portal here, and will need their Welsh Athletics Registration Number and Password to acces their information. They can also use their log in details to check and update their details at any point.
Safeguarding in Athletics (1st August, 2018)

||This course was written in partnership with the UKA Education and Welfare Sub Group. It is aimed at athlete support networks and primarily coaches as part of their mandatory training requirements. From 1st October 2018 all coaches taking an entry level qualification course from the UKA Coach Education Pathway are required to complete this short online course. From the 1st of January 2019, all re-licensiing coaches will be required to complete the same course.

Following the creation of a working group to create a Coaching Code of Practice for athletics, UK Athletics has published the code that will be introduced over the next 12 months.

Early Notice: Athletics Coach Qualification: We have provisionally scheduled 2 consecutive weekends 6/7 October in Swansea and 13/14 October in Cardiff for the first 2 days (generic) with the Day 3 scheduled for the weekend of 17 or 18th November (Depending on event specific day), and Day 4 on 2nd or 3rd February 2019 (Depending on event specific day)

Community Chest Panel Dates: 2018-19
All Welsh Athletics affiliated clubs can apply for up to £1500 towards key projects and activities.
