From the entry level to Olympic glory, Welsh Athletics and UKA offer several levels of support for the most promising athletes in the sport.

• UKA World Class Pathway / Futures: a programme devoted to athletes with realistic medal winning capabilities at the next Olympic/Paralympic Games (i.e. a maximum of four years away from the podium).

• Welsh Athletics Commonwealth Games squad: the support programme for senior Welsh athletes who have achieved the matrix standards aligned with previous Commonwealth Games results.

• Welsh Athletics Academy:  the support programme for Welsh athletes aged 17-23 who have achieved the age related matrix standards.

• Sports Aid Cymru: a support mechanism for talented youth level athletes, the Sports Aid Cymru athletes will be advised to utilize their SA budget to assist with training travel, equipment and competition expenses.
