Commonwealth Games - Day 5 Preview

Thursday 12th April

Thursday’s sessions see five welsh athletes take to the track and field inside the Carrara Stadium. The Gold Coast is currently 9 hours ahead of the United Kingdom, and all times listed below are the times that athletes will be in action on UK Time.

Morning Session

02:20 a.m – Women’s 100m Hurdles Heat

Caryl Granville (Swansea Harriers) will take to the track for her second hurdling event of the Games. Caryl will look to qualify from the Women’s 100m Hurdles Heats after already competing in the women’s 400m Hurdles on Tuesday.

02:50 a.m – Men’s T12 100m Heats

James Ledger (Swansea Harriers) will make his Commonwealth Games debut as he competes in the Men’s T12 100m Heats. James recently ran a 100m season’s best of 12.00 at the Dubai International Open Athletics Meeting in March and will look to carry that type of form into Thursday’s heats.

 

Evening Session

11:05 a.m – Women’s T38 100m Final

Olivia Breen (City of Portsmouth) will again look to produce a big performance at a major final, after finishing 5th at the Paralympic Games Final in 2012 and 7th at the Paralympic Games Final in 2016. This will be Olivia’s second event of the Games after competing in the Long Jump on Sunday evening.

11:21 a.m – Men’s T12 100m Final

Swansea Harrier James Ledger will look to make his first Commonwealth Games Final after qualifying from his T12 100m Heat on Thursday morning.
